KTM Motohall Awards

Together with the Unger Steel Group and Werkraum Ingenieure ZT GmbH , the KTM Motohall has been recognized with the European Steel Design Award, which is handed out by the European Convention for Constructional Steelwork (ECCS). Teams of architects from Hofbauer Liebmann Wimmesberger Architekten ZT GmbH and X Architekten ZT GmbH were also involved in the project.
The jury was impressed with the museum’s architecture with its striking steel structure in the form of a tire track, evoking dynamism and movement.
The European Steel Design Award aims to raise awareness of outstanding steel design and to highlight the economic and architectural benefits of steel. Steel is the ideal material for implementing architectural objects like the KTM Motohall. There has been a huge emphasis on environmental awareness and this has continued with the use of steel as a construction material. With an unmatched recycling rate of 99%, steel makes a key contribution to European climate-neutral targets as part of a circular economy and with regard to the re-use of resources.
